PROGRAMS & SERVICES
KITH delivers an array of programs and services designed to build stronger families within our community. By eradicating homelessness, KITH offers participants renewed self esteem, encouragement and a chance to make healthy choices.
Transitional Housing is a large portion of what KITH does to pursue it's mission. KITH owns some transitional housing units and also utilizes market rate apartments. KITH might work with a family by co-signing, subsidizing their rent, by advocating for a family to get them into housing, or by providing them with housing. Participants pay rent based off of their income level. To qualify for housing a family must be homeless or in danger of homelessness. KITH's intake process helps determine the extent of the needs and the programs capacity to address those needs. Determination of the program participants interest in commitment to work on goals and issues is also assessed. The length of the transitional housing varies between 6 and 24 months depending on the individual program. Case management is key in KITH's transitional housing program. Participants must participate in weekly case management and follow through on their individual case plan to remain in housing. Sessions with the case manager focus on evaluating progress, working on areas of concern, and exploring ways to eliminate barriers to success. As families transition out of KITH housing, KITH will work with them to secure new housing. In order to apply for housing, individuals and families must contact the KITH office at 425-576-9531.
Salisbury Court Housing Unit
Community Based Permanent Low-Income Housing is also a portion of what KITH does. Some families who complete their transitional housing program may have the opportunity to transition into KITH's low-income housing, as it is available. Case management support is provided as needed. Community building activities and co-op commitments are a part of this program. Eligibility is assessed on an annual basis. Home ownership through first time buyers programs is encouraged for participants ready to acheive this goal.
Community Supper!
Back-to-School is a great program that happens annually in August. KITH provides school supplies and backpacks for approximately 80 children. The Back-to-School Celebration also includes a BBQ, haircuts, games, and prizes. It is a fun way to get the kids of our community excited and prepared for going back to school.

The Holiday Adopt-a-Family program is a really wonderful way for individuals, businesses, community organizations, and local churches to serve the community. The program provides an opportunity for families needing assistance in making the holidays special for their children. Sponsors receive a "wish list" from each family and can donate gifts and a special holiday meal for their adopted family. This program serves 120+ families and allows them to remain completely anonymous.
Community Supper is a weekly event held each Tuesday at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. A healthy and delicious meal is provided and everyone is welcome. There is no charge for this meal. Volunteers from local organizations and churches rotate providing the meal each week. During portions of the year there are also special events for children and adults.

Tutoring and ESL are weekly events that happen each Tuesday from 5:00 - 6:00 PM at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church. These programs meet September through June. Dave & Lindsay Godfrey, the tutoring coordinators work hard to provide each student with a well-matched tutor. Tutoring is truly a special time for everyone involved.
If you or your organization is interested in helping with any of these projects, please call KITH at: 425-576-9531
Thank you, we are always in need of caring volunteers!
